	Located in the west Phoenix suburb of Goodyear, Arizona, Phoenix Goodyear Airport began life in 1943 as Litchfield Naval Air Station.

	A non-federal, contract tower controls the Phoenix-Goodyear Airport's Class D airspace. Goodyear tower is equipped with radar, and (usually) the friendliest and sometimes even funniest controllers I have ever met.

During the racing season, Phoenix-Goodyear Airport becomes home to the infamous "NASCAR Air Force." Phoenix International Raceway is a mere 8 miles away... And the airport is equipped to handle even the largest of jets.
